  KEPCO  underground power tunnel fire detection and alarm system

 

 

AURORA system was developed suitably for fire detection and  alarm system in the underground power tunnels, underground communication tunnels, and tunnel facilities.  Besides, high humidity and stable movement in EMC conditions are required for underground facilities. Fire alarm signal should be transmitted to the external server and others. 

Currently they are operated in major facilities of  KEPCO.

 

 

  KEPCO underground power tunnel automatic fire extinguishing system 

    (Fire Extinguishing Aerosol Systems) 

 

Fire Extinguishing Aerosol System is an optimum automatic fire extinguisher for the underground power tunnels, underground communication tunnels, and tunnel facilities. It is humidity resistant, no harm to human body, strong against electromagnetic wave, and does not require separate safety measures during the operation of extinguisher inside. 

Currently they are operated in major facilities of  KEPCO.

 

 

  KEPCO's Bridge, the bridge facility fire prevention system (Titan) 

 

In case of fire at power supply facilities (cable passage) of a big bridge, to prevent fire spread and minimize damages, gap or crack in the independent room is sealed by fire proof and flame resistant materials to prevent fire transmission.

If fire occurs at the cable or room, as no stationing or managing manpower is available, cable may be used for fire transmission passage and great damage may happen. Therefore, fire non-proliferation and self-extinguishing functions are very important. To do so, fire proof and flame resistant materials (Titan–B) should be equipped to prevent fire spread.

Fire proof and flame resistant materials (Titan–B) expand by about 20 times in case of fire to stop the connecting hole.

Besides, if cable extension is made by soft material, you just need to stop it after extension without destruction.

This provides more flexible working environment than the current urethane foam. Urethane foam needs to stop it after cable extension with destruction.

Currently it is installed and operated by KEPCO (Nakdong Big Bridge in Korea)
